Breno Nunes

Breno holds a BSc and MSc in Industrial Engineering and a PhD in management. He has been working at Aston Business School since 2009 when he joined the faculty staff as Teaching Fellow in Operations Management. He is currently lecturer in operations management, with expertise in green operations and technology management. He also collaborates with the Aston Centre for Servitization Research and Practice.

 Dr Breno Nunes helps companies and governments to respond to sustainability challenges and opportunities. At firm level, his work focuses mostly on strategic decisions for operations function. He has act as a consultant for the European Automotive Strategy Network (UK), SMEs clusters development (Brazil),and advised a water management agency (Brazil). Breno investigates sustainability strategies, environmental decision making processes, and green technology management in both developed and developing countries. His recent research publications deal with a variety of sustainability issues, including: sustainable operations strategy, sustainable livestock, green innovation management, electric cars and sustainable mobility, sustainable luxury, sustainability performance and systems dynamics.

Lately, he has been invited several times to deliver workshops, keynotes talks, and seminars for both academics and practitioners in the various countries such as UK, USA, and Brazil. His research has already been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production, Production Planning & Control, Benchmarking: An International Journal, Brazilian Journal of Operations & Production Management, and practitioners’ magazines such as The European Financial Review and The Automotive Manufacturing Solutions, IAMOT Brochure on Green Technology.

Breno is currently Vice President of Education, Research and Publications for IAMOT – The International Association for Management of Technology.
