A-GamE Centre
A-GamE (Aston Games in Education) was launched in November 2018 to share best practice in the use of games, experiments and simulations in teaching.
Across the College of Business and Social Sciences games are used in a wide range of disciplines including:
- Accounting
- Economics, Finance and Entrepreneurship
- Law School
- Operations and Information Management
- Politics and International Relations

Past Events
- Speed Dating event (12th February 2025): A playful/games-based way of using A-Game experts to help colleagues from across BSS integrate innovative pedagogy into their teaching.
- VR Showcase Event (19 March 2025): An opportunity to demonstrate the use of Virtual Reality headsets and simulation rooms for learning and teaching. Thanks to our panellists Stefan Manz (Professor in SSH), Joseph Yannielli (Lecturer in SSH), Paul Long (CEO and Creative Director of MBD Ltd., Digital Creative Storytelling +Industrial Fellow, Aston), and Kari Pihl (Risk and Crisis Research Centre Simulation Lab, Mid Sweden University).
- BEES Summer Workshop (14 May 2025): A-Game supported this Birmingham Economics Education Seminar (BEES) event by speaking on the theme of gamification for learning and teaching.
