The best part about Aston is its lecturers, who are too helpful, polite, unbiased and knowledgeable. Most of the times I get prompt replies from them regarding my queries, sometimes even on weekends. I have not encountered even a single lecturer so far who ignores any student or is biased. Aston got such a wonderful staff which I think might not be the case with any other university.

Why did you pick Aston University?

Being an international student, I did not have much idea for which university to go for. I did my own research for around a month over the internet, filtered through all the universities all over UK, and finally got the best university at an affordable fee. Later I was still in doubt whether I made the right choice or not, but after I started studying here, I came to know through my experience that it really is the best one of all.

Why did you choose to join in January?

At first, I chose to take admission in September, but I had to defer it to January due to the increasing spread of Covid-19 virus. Later, it turned out to be beneficial because there was an extra certification course for free that Aston provided to Aston Business School January intake students, which made us utilize the time period from September to December.

What are your career ambitions and how is your course helping you achieve these?

As far as my initial goals are concerned, I aim to become a financial controller in a reputed company, later I have some other higher goals. The course has helped a lot to me in gaining not just the knowledge but the opportunities to work in good firms. Since the start of the course, Aston Business School has been sending internship and placement opportunities via email and other platforms such as “Aston Futures”.

Aston Business School takes an extra step to help its students get the employment in the sector they want. Learning Development Centre (LDC) helps us improve the academic writing which I believe is one of the best parts of Aston University as for most of the international students who do not have much idea of how to write in academic papers in the beginning, LDC makes it easier to understand the critiques of writing.

Overall, the course has made a positive impact on me and as I get towards the end of the course, I feel more confident in achieving my career goals.

Do you have any advice to future students thinking of studying a postgraduate course at Aston University?

The most important thing that I would like to advise future students is that they must start their coursework from the very beginning of each term and not to drag it till the end otherwise it might become too stressful to do all of it in the end. Try not to miss even a single live lecture as they form part of your coursework and it is not just about coursework but more about the interaction you make with fellow students and the lecturer, as this will prove to be an essential element in later stages of your career. So, try to be as interactive as possible, as the more you interact, the more you gain.

The other advice that I would like to give is to take the advantage of employment opportunities that Aston provides. They have a support office for all kinds of problems you might face during your study or may already have, so, never forget to take advantage of such support services. In the end, I would say “All The Best” to future Aston students and not to worry at all as you are at the right place, at the right time.
