Our advisers offer professional support on a range of issues including routine and complex student finance queries. The team can advise on all Student Finance England queries and university fee payments. They also provide support for students with caring responsibilities, care leavers and students estranged from their families.
Aston University London students will have access to personalised eTextbooks and a wide variety of top-quality learning resources, seamlessly integrated into their courses. The building offers both quiet and social study spaces to suit different learning styles. Professional support from Learning Services will help enhance skills for both work and life, while mentoring programmes will enable students to expand their networks, develop transferable skills, and gain valuable insights from experienced professionals.
We are also part of the SCONUL Access scheme, which allows you to use other university libraries. You can borrow books or visit for a quiet place to study. Most university libraries in London (and across the UK) are part of the scheme.
Our Careers and Placements team works closely with industry professionals to source opportunities for our students. Some of the companies they’ve worked with include Microsoft, Jaguar Land Rover, NHS, Morgan Stanley, ASOS, HSBC, GlaxoSmithKline and more. Our specialist digital platform, Aston Futures, can help you to find part-time work, volunteering opportunities, an internship or a graduate job.
There are resources to support you in perfecting your CV, applications and interview techniques. The team can also advise on the skills employers are looking for and how best to develop and showcase them. These resources, paired with Aston University London’s excellent location and links to industry, can give you the tools to prepare for your future, wherever that may take you.
Two prayer rooms are included within the building and a variety of faith services are easily accessible around the Aldersgate area, including churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples. With London’s excellent transport links, students can easily reach these places of worship. London is a vibrant cultural city, where communities with diverse traditions, languages, and views from around the world blend seamlessly.
Our teams provide expert information and advice on managing any mental health or wellbeing difficulties that may impact a student’s ability to study. Appointments are available to help advise and support students with mental health difficulties and wellbeing concerns. Our wellbeing service can also provide counselling, psychological support and workshops to current students.
Inclusivity is at the heart of our ethos. Our expert teams provide support and advice on reasonable adjustments to students who have physical or sensory disabilities, neurodiversity or long-term health conditions, and can advise on assessments and support for learners with specific learning differences.
