Exchange Students Accommodation

January 2025 Teaching Period 2 Starters

Aston University still has campus accommodation for Exchange student applicants beginning in January 2025. REGISTER AND APPLY NOW FOR JANUARY 2025

Exchange applicants will be offered January to July contracts only depending on availability. Further details and Tenancy Conditions can be found on the Unite Students website.

Exchange student accommodation is in the James Watt or William Murdoch buildings on campus.  For information on how to make an application, please go to HOW TO APPLY. 

September 2025 Exchange (Full Academic Year)

Aston University guarantees campus accommodation to the first 40 Exchange student full year (3 terms) applicants, beginning in September 2025, providing they fulfil the criteria set out below:

• They apply to Aston University as a part year exchange student for the full year (September 2025 to July 2026)
• Aston University has confirmed their application and the applicant firmly accepts their place
• They have applied for accommodation through the online portal from March 2025 onward.

Applications open in March 2025. Exchange applicants may choose an 44 week (September to July) Tenancy Agreement only. Further details and Tenancy Conditions can be found on the Unite Students website.

Students can choose on application between 5 bedroom ensuite and 7 bedroom ensuite shared flats in the William Murdoch building or James Watt building on campus.

September 2025 Exchange for Teaching Period 1

Aston University guarantees campus accommodation to the first 25 Exchange student Teaching Period 1 applicants, beginning in September 2025, providing they fulfil the criteria set out below:

• They apply to Aston University as a part year exchange student for the 1st semester (September 2025 to January 2026)
• Aston University has confirmed their application and the applicant firmly accepts their place
• They have applied for accommodation through the online portal from March 2025 onwards.

Applications open in March 2025. Exchange applicants may choose an 18 week (September to January) Tenancy Agreement only. Further details and Tenancy Conditions can be found on the Unite Students website.

Students will be accommodated in 5 bedroom ensuite shared flats in the William Murdoch building on campus. Please see here for 3D walkthrough

January 2026 Exchange Starters for Teaching Period 2

Aston University guarantees campus accommodation to the first 25 Exchange student Teaching Period 2 applicants, beginning in January 2026, providing they fulfil the criteria set out below:

• They apply to Aston University as a part year exchange student for the 2nd semester (January 2026 to June 2026)
• Aston University has confirmed their application and the applicant firmly accepts their place
• They have applied for accommodation through the online portal from March 2025 onwards
• Exchange applicants may choose an 20 week (January to June) Tenancy Agreement only. Further details and Tenancy Conditions can be found on the Unite Students website.

Students will be accommodated in 5 bedroom ensuite shared flats in the William Murdoch building on campus. Please see here for 3D walkthrough.

Teaching period 2 accommodation will start approximately 19th January, 2026. If you require an earlier start, you will need to find local hotel accommodation or similar. There is information on Exchange Students section of the Aston Students’ Union website. Please look under ‘Accommodation Options’ and then ‘Accommodation for Overlap TP1/TP2’.
