What do resident tutors do?

Resident tutors are volunteer postgraduate students who make sure students living in Aston Student Village are receiving the pastoral and welfare support they need. Read the job description for resident tutors here.

What are the benefits?

This post is residential, and you'll be provided with a substantially discounted self-contained flat in Aston Student Village, including all utility bills. The discount is around 90% off the market rate.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible to apply, you must have:

  • Over 12 months until the submission deadline of your PhD.
  • A valid contract of studentship for the duration of your role as Residence Tutor.

If your studentship should be terminated, you will lose your role as Residence Tutor and the accommodation allocated to you.
