Breaking barriers with Aston

My mum always said I was good at arguing, so I guess that’s why I decided to become a lawyer.

It hasn’t been the easiest journey, but Aston has made it possible. Thanks to a contextual offer, practical teaching and the university’s focus on employability, I’m now just a few exams away from entering a career in law.

Aston’s emphasis on employability has been a brilliant. From acquiring practical skills to networking with aspiring lawyers and solicitors, the university’s industry connections have opened doors I never imagined. I’ve gained invaluable mentorship and advice that’s prepared me for the realities of the legal field.

More than just a degree

University life is about more than lectures and coursework. I’ve made lifelong friends, bonded over basketball games, and even discovered a love for giving back by raising food donations for charity.

Studying at Aston means living in Birmingham, a multicultural, lively city that’s full of character. Whether it’s exploring new spots around Digbeth or connecting with people from all walks of life, there’s always something happening here. It’s the perfect backdrop for personal and professional growth.

At Aston, I’ve gained more than a degree - I’ve gained confidence, skills, and a community.
