Our part-time masters course gives managers who are already working in the supply chain the knowledge and experience to continue to build their careers.
The leadership and management course is delivered in partnership by the triple-accredited Aston Business School and the School of Engineering and Applied Science, combining the knowledge and expertise of both schools.
We already work with a wide range of trailblazer companies, adapting and tailoring the content of the course to meet the specific needs of the organisation. The course is designed to develop future leaders, with a focus on boosting your performance, increasing your agility and building your resilience.

What you'll learn
During the course you’ll gain a range of leadership knowledge and skills, enabling you to build your career further with the potential to become the senior leaders of the future.
You’ll study a number of core modules to enable you to gain an understanding of strategy and how it’s applied to business every day. You’ll also have the opportunity to take optional modules, enabling you to tailor your studies to your interests as well as completing a major project on a subject of your choice.
Accreditation
Our course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
When you successfully complete the course you’ll receive an ILM Level 7 Certificate in Leadership and Management and a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. Graduation from this course also provides a route to Chartered Manager status.
Real-world learning
Students spend most of their time doing a full-time job as well as studying for their degree part-time. Everything is structured to fit around the job and is designed in partnership with employers.
Entry requirements
For direct enrolment onto the MSc in Supply Chain Leadership and Management, you will need one of the following:
- A good UK honours degree
- An equivalent overseas degree recognised by Aston
- A degree-level professional qualification
Plus
- At least FIVE years relevant work experience
- An official academic transcript of your grades (in English) where relevant

- Two professional references, each of which should reflect your leadership and management potential.
Admission outside of these guidelines is possible for exceptional students. If you have extensive work experience but no graduate qualifications, you may be considered for admission to the programme.
All candidates will be invited to interview with the course director or his/her nominee prior to a formal offer being made.

Learning, teaching and assessment
The course is taught in eight short periods of intensive study throughout the year. These are usually two or three days in length and take place from Friday to Sunday.
Learning will be delivered in a range of ways including interactive lectures, tutorials, site visits, guest lectures and class debate.

- Assessment
Assessment methods are chosen in relation to the particular requirements of a module. Assessment methods employed include group and individual assignments, and class participation.
