Course overview

The programme enhances understanding in areas such as asset valuation, corporate finance, risk management techniques, along with a focus on advanced corporate finance, international finance and investment management. 

This programme advances knowledge and understanding in finance, equipping you with a wide range of analytical and technical skills that are highly sought after by employers in the finance and banking sector. 

You will gain insights into the complex environment in which organisations operate and the financial implications. The programme aims to develop a critical awareness and understanding of contemporary issues and theories relating to corporate finance, financial instruments and investments preparing graduates for the dynamic challenges of the financial world.

The Master’s degree programme would be delivered through blended learning, which is a combination of face-to-face teaching and online learning.

Modules

The MSc Strategic Financial Management programme consists of 10 modules. This programme may be completed in 12 months on a part-time basis.

Entry requirements

 

  • Degree in any discipline; OR
  • Other qualifications will be assessed on case-by-case basis and the final decision rests with the University. 

Additional requirements

•    Completed application form
•    One professional reference – for graduates within the last 3 years, one can submit EITHER an Academic Reference OR Employer Reference
•    An official academic transcript and certificate of university studies

•    GCE O-Level English Grade C6 or better; OR
•    IELTS score of 6.5 overall with min 5.5 in 1 band and min 6.0 in all other bands; OR
•    An equivalent English language qualification recognised by Aston University. Click here for more information. 

•    Matured students: At least 30 years old with at least 8 years’ relevant working experience; OR
•    If applicant does not hold an academic qualification in Marketing related modules (e.g. Advertising, Public Relations, E-Marketing and/or Consumer Behaviour), relevant professional marketing experience may be considered (i.e.. at least 2 years professional marketing experience or a full 1-year internship in a marketing-related role).

In all cases, the final decision on admission to the programme rests with the University.
