Studied via blended learning (online and in-person sessions), this standalone module provides an overview of cellular pathology, focusing on cellular and tissue structures and their changes during disease. It’s ideal for enhancing your degree to become a registered Biomedical Scientist or advancing your professional development, deepening your understanding of cellular abnormalities in disease diagnosis and treatment.
The module covers the structure of normal and diseased cells, reproductive science including infertility and embryology, and tissue preparation techniques for microscopy. It also explores visualisation and imaging methods, including microscopy, for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
This is a level 5 module (equivalent level of study to a foundation degree or Diploma of Higher Education) worth 10 credits.
