The highlight would definitely have to be the friends I’ve made through Aston. I got to experience their different cultures and it gave a whole new perspective on my outlook on life. We shared food, music and the history of our countries amongst ourselves and this is an experience I would’ve never gotten if I hadn’t been at Aston.

Why did you pick Aston University?

I chose Aston because of its reputation in offering an MSc Finance programme which stands as one of the best in the world. Aston is a highly ranked and respected school not just in the UK, but globally.

It’s also located in Birmingham which is a city I’ve come to love throughout my stay here (even more than London). There couldn't have been a better option for me.

Why did you choose to join in January?

I chose to start in January because I wanted a new start in a new year, and I honestly do not regret my decision. Starting my Master’s programme in January helped me pace myself and plan out my year accordingly.

What are your career ambitions and how is your course helping you achieve these?

I’ve always been a “wherever life takes me” kind of girl. I can’t say much about my career ambitions because I myself haven’t fully figured that out yet. However, my passions have always lied in the world of Finance, and slowly but surely, each module I take brings me closer to making that huge decision.

What has been a highlight of your time at Aston so far?

The highlight would definitely have to be the friends I’ve made through Aston. I got to experience their different cultures and it gave a whole new perspective on my outlook on life. We shared food, music and the history of our countries amongst ourselves and this is an experience I would’ve never gotten if I hadn’t been at Aston.

Do you have any advice to future students thinking of studying a postgraduate course at Aston University?

My advice to anyone still contemplating studying at Aston University would be “Why not?”. Apart from the knowledge to be gained in whatever course you decide to take on, there’s a world of culture awaiting you.

It may not sound like much, but as an international student in a slightly unfamiliar environment, it’s an amazing feeling to know you’re not the only flustered face in the crowd. And rest assured each and every professor you come across would help to ease a sense of self-assurance into you.
