Aston University welcomes students from all countries. We take pride in our diverse student body who come not only from all over the world, but also from a wide range of social and educational backgrounds. In general, you will need to have the equivalent of a UK first or upper-second class honours degree from your country. We will also consider any significant work experience that you may have. Entry requirements vary between the different programmes and the Grade Point Average (GPA) marks/overall percentage will also vary.
Students are requested to submit their certified university transcripts (translated into English), with their application. The list below gives an indication of the qualifications we consider from some countries.
Africa | Bachelors degree with a minimum Second Class Upper (2:1) from a recognised institution |
Australia | Good Bachelors Honours degree (four years) |
China | Minimum average of 80% in Bachelors degree (four years study) from a recognised university |
India | First class Bachelors Honours degree (minimum 60-70% depending on institution and subject area) from a recognised institution |
Indonesia | S1 (Sarjana) with good GPA (usually 3.0 from a good university) |
Japan | Good Bachelor degree usually a minimum of 75% from a recognised university |
Kazakhstan | Good Bakalavr from a recognised university with a minimum average of 4/5. |
