Current vacancies in the Aston Digital Futures Institute

The posts and the candidates

We are currently recruiting 9 fully funded interdisciplinary PhD positions aligned our mission of promoting and undertaking interdisciplinary research focusing on 3 priority challenges, namely digital health, AI and data, as well as gamification.

These positions are primarily suited to candidates who come from technology backgrounds such as computer science, electronic or biomedical science/engineering, digital media/design etc; however, we welcome and strongly encourage applicants from other professional backgrounds such as health sciences, social sciences, management and business who aspire to building a career profile in applied AI and data analytics, particularly within the healthcare and manufacturing/business sectors.

It is expected that successful candidates will conduct their research under the supervision of an interdisciplinary team of academics and work in an interdisciplinary setting across relevant departments and colleges; however, the PhD students will be affiliated to a specific department within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Aston University, in such a way that reflects the application domain/sector of their research, the “home” department of their first supervisors, and the dominant field of their interdisciplinary research study. A description of the 9 doctoral projects is provided at each of the associated links below:
