Aston University has retained its HR Excellence in Research Award following its 10-year review.

It is awarded by Vitae, the global leader in supporting the professional development of researchers. Vitae is a non-profit organisation, part of the Careers Research & Advisory Centre (CRAC) Ltd, with over 50 years’ experience of enhancing researchers’ skills.

The Award is an important mechanism for implementing the principles of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers, an agreement between

the funders and employers of researchers in the UK. Through the implementation of its principles, it aims to enhance the early career researcher workforce and thereby sustain research excellence, bringing benefits to the health, economy and wellbeing of the UK.

Retaining the Award means that Aston University has demonstrated its long-term commitment to the career development of researchers.

Professor Phil Mizen, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor Researcher Development, said:

“This is a significant achievement for Aston University, and I’d like to congratulate everyone who has worked hard to make sure the University retained this award.

“It is recognition that the University has made huge progress in supporting our next generation of researchers and that we can be proud of our excellent researcher development provision.”
