Aston University – GREAT Scholarships 2024 – India, Pakistan, and Vietnam
Scholarships worth £10,000 towards tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate course.
Are you considering a postgraduate degree at Aston University? A GREAT Scholarship could be for you.
In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Aston University is offering £10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year postgraduate-level taught courses to one student from each of the following countries who enrol at Aston University in 2024 (Please note - excluded courses are the MBA and Postgraduate Diploma for Overseas Pharmacists (OSPAP)):
- India – September 2024 courses
- Pakistan – September 2024 courses
- Vietnam – September 2024 courses
The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.
The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 72 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Eligibility criteria
- Course: One-year postgraduate-level on-campus taught course (excluding the MBA and OSPAP).
- Nationality: India, Pakistan, and Vietnam (you must also be a current resident of your country)
- Minimum academic qualification: equivalent of a UK 2:1 degree qualification
How to apply
- India – September 2024 courses
To be considered for a GREAT Scholarship, you will need to apply and hold an offer for one of our postgraduate programmes that are starting in September 2024. To check your eligibility to study at Aston University, please refer to our India country page. Once you have an offer, you will need to complete Aston University India GREAT Scholarship Application Form.
As part of the application you will need to answer the following question in no more than 500 words:
"Tell us about a social or work initiative that you took or was a part of, and how it impacted society and moulded you into the person you are today."
You will also need to create a one-minute video answering the following question:
"How does the choice of programme you have applied to at Aston University align with the initiative mentioned in the essay above as well as your future career goals."

- Pakistan – September 2024 courses
To be considered for a GREAT Scholarship, you will need to apply and hold an offer for one of our postgraduate programmes that are starting in September 2024. To check your eligibility to study at Aston University, please refer to our Pakistan country page. Once you have an offer, you will need to complete Aston University Pakistan GREAT Scholarship Application Form.
As part of the application you will be also required to create a two-minute video that answers the following two questions:
“How will studying this Master’s course boost your future career?"
And“How would you promote Aston University in Pakistan?”
Please upload your video to YouTube (or an alternative video sharing platform) and share the link to this video in the relevant field of the application form.
Please ensure that your video is no longer than two minutes. Your application will be assessed based on this video submission.
Deadline: The application period is Monday 1st January 2024 - Friday 24th May 2024

- Vietnam – September 2024 courses
To be considered for a GREAT Scholarship, you will need to apply and hold an offer for one of our postgraduate programmes that are starting in September 2024. To check your eligibility to study at Aston University, please refer to our Vietnam country page. Once you have an offer, you will need to complete Aston University Vietnam GREAT Scholarship Application Form.
As part of the application you will need to answer the following question in no more than 500 words:
"Aston University is looking for individuals who will be future leaders or influencers in Vietnam. Please explain how you meet this requirement, using clear and recent examples of your own leadership and influencing skills to support your answer."
You will be also need to create a one-minute video introducing yourself and why you applied for Aston University for your postgraduate studies. Please upload your video to YouTube (or an alternative video sharing platform) and share the link to this video in the relevant field of the application form.
Deadline: The deadline for all submissions can be made by is 23:59 UK time on Friday 24th May 2024. All parts of the application will need to be submitted to be considered for the award.

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?
You can only receive one scholarship but you are able to apply for multiple scholarships. If you are successful in being awarded multiple scholarships, the highest value scholarship will be awarded to you. Scholarships will automatically be credited to your student account in the form of a tuition fee reduction.
