Entry Criteria

English Language Requirements

Students with a Pakistani qualification will need to show proof of English. All acceptable English tests and the respective scores you need to obtain, you can find here.

International Foundation Programme/ International Year One

To progress to a Bachelors degree, you will be required to complete a recognised International Foundation Programme or an International Year One if you have:

Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC or HSC);
Intermediate Certificate; or
Diploma of Faculty of Arts / Science (FA / FSc)

Master's Foundation Programme (Pre-Masters)

Students who hold a Bachelors Degree, but do not meet the criteria listed below for Postgraduate Masters degree, can apply for a one-year Master's Foundation Programme and then progress to postgraduate study.

Postgraduate Masters

We would typically require a Bachelors Degree from a recognised university and look at the percentage score first. Where a percentage score is not available, we would request a CGPA. Some courses may require certain subjects to be covered in your Higher Education Degree. Details of those will be listed on the individual course pages where you can also see the overall entry requirement for UK Bachelor degrees. You can then come back to this page to see how your qualification compares to the UK degrees.

Postgraduate Research

Students must have completed a Masters degree from a recognised institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4 or 75%.

All PhD applicants need to contact the research groups direct with their individual research proposal.

We offer a range of scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate study. Please see our international scholarships webpage for more information.

Regional Scholarships

Pakistan Regional Scholarship of £5,000.

To be eligible, applicants must be a resident of Pakistan and hold an offer to study at undergraduate or postgraduate taught level at the Aston University, Birmingham campus for September 2025, January or April 2026. This is an automatic award and no application is required.

Excluded programmes: MBA, OSPAP, MBChB, Physician Associate, Adult Nursing and Mental Health programmes
