International Foundation programme

If you have achieved an average of 60 per cent in your Senior High School Leaving Certificate you may be considered for ONCAMPUS ASTON which will help you to progress to Undergraduate study.   

Undergraduate

We will consider you for Undergraduate study if you have a complete A-Level with grades between BCC-BBB or equivalent grades in International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB) and NCUK.

Postgraduate (Master's)

You should have a Bachelor’s degree from a Chinese university.
The specific percentage requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston, and the Chinese university that you have graduated from.

In general applicants should be scoring:

2:1 China full-time bachelor's degree75 - 80 average grades
2:2  China full-time Bachelor's degree70 – 75 average grades

If you are applying for finance, engineering or science-based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.

If you are unable to meet the direct entry requirement to Aston University, you can also consider the Master Foundation Programme/Graduate Diploma at ONCAMPUS Aston.
 

Postgraduate (MBA)

You must obtain a satisfactory degree from a recognised Chinese university with at least 3 years of work experience. 

You can apply for the MBA programme with:

  • An undergraduate degree in any subject area from an overseas institution and three years’ post-graduation managerial work experience.

or

  • An undergraduate degree in any subject area from a Chinese university with at least 70-85 percent, and a minimum of three years post-graduation managerial work experience.
Postgraduate Research

In order to apply to a research degree at Aston, you should have a Masters degree from a Chinese university. The specific percentage requirement will vary depending on the course you are applying for at Aston and the Chinese university from which you have graduated.

In general applicants should be scoring in the range of 75-85 per cent average as a minimum.    

You have to submit a detailed research proposal outlining your intended research topic, its objectives, proposed method of research and an indication of how the proposed research topic relates to previous work by other researchers.

Aston University offers a range of scholarships to support Chinese students at postgraduate level.

Postgraduate Merit Award Scholarship

How much is this scholarship worth?

Successful applicants will be awarded the following to help with tuition fees:

  • £2,000 for students who have obtained a 2:1 bachelor's degree.
  • £4,000 for students who obtained a 1st class bachelor's degree.

Who can apply?

Students who are Chinese nationals and applying to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate (excluding MBA, part-time programmes, distance learning programmes) programme starting in September 2022.


How to apply?

To apply for a Postgraduate Merit Award Scholarship, you will need to apply for an eligible Aston University undergraduate and postgraduate first. Once you have received an offer to study an Aston University course, you can then log into your My Aston Portal (MAP) account, where you will find a link to the scholarship application form. Details on how to access your MAP account can be found in your offer email.

You will need to submit a 300-word written statement answering the following question: “Why are you choosing this course, and how will it help your future career?”

For courses starting in September 2022, the deadline to apply for this scholarship is Thursday 30 June 2022.

What happens next?

If your application is successful, you will be awarded £2,000/£4,000 to help with tuition fees. We will contact you by email to let you know if your application was successful. Chinese Ambassador scholarship

How much is this scholarship worth?

Successful applicants will be awarded £1,000 to help with tuition fees.

Who can apply?

Students who are Chinese nationals and applying to study a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate (excluding MBA, part-time programmes, distance learning programmes) programme starting in September 2022.

How to apply?

To apply for a Chinese Ambassador scholarship you will need to apply for an eligible Aston University undergraduate and postgraduate first. Once you have received an offer to study an Aston University course, you can then log into your My Aston Portal (MAP) account, where you will find a link to the scholarship application form. Details on how to access your MAP account can be found in your offer email.

You will need to submit a 1-minute video as part of your application  answering the following question: “What did you choose Aston University?”

Please upload your video to YouTube (or an alternative platform if YouTube is not available in your country) and submit both the video link on the 'Chinese Ambassador scholarship' application page on My Aston Portal (MAP).

For courses starting in September 2022, the deadline to apply for this scholarship is Thursday 30 June 2022.

How much is this scholarship worth?

Successful applicants will be awarded £2,000 to help with tuition fees.

Who can apply?

Students who are Chinese nationals and applying to study a full-time postgraduate College of Engineering and Physical Sciences programmes (excluding part-time programmes, distance learning programmes) starting in September 2022.

How to apply?

To apply for an International Postgraduate Scholarship, you will need to apply for an eligible Aston University undergraduate and postgraduate first. Once you have received an offer to study an Aston University course, you can then log into your My Aston Portal (MAP) account, where you will find a link to the scholarship application form. Details on how to access your MAP account can be found in your offer email.

You will need to submit a 300-word written statement answering the following question: “What attracts you to this particular programme at Aston University? Please also discuss how you envisage this degree to enhance your career further.'” 

When is the deadline?

For courses starting in September 2022, the deadline to apply for this scholarship is Thursday 30 June 2022.

What happens next?

MSc Psychology (conversion) Scholarship

Successful applicants will be awarded £2,000 to help with tuition fees.

Who can apply?

Students who are Chinese nationals and applying to study the MSc Psychology (conversion) programme starting in September 2022.

To apply for a MSc Psychology (conversion) scholarship you will need to apply for an eligible Aston University undergraduate and postgraduate first. Once you have received an offer to study an Aston University course, you can then log into your My Aston Portal (MAP) account, where you will find a link to the scholarship application form. You will need to submit a 1-minute video as part of your application  answering the following question: “How will this course help your future career?”

How much is this scholarship worth?

Successful applicants will be awarded £2,000 to help with tuition fees.

Who can apply?

Applicants from Shanghai University and NEFU applying for courses at Aston University starting in September 2022.

How to apply?

To apply for an Aston Partner University Scholarship you will need to apply for an eligible Aston University undergraduate and postgraduate first. Once you have received an offer to study an Aston University course, you can then log into your My Aston Portal (MAP) account, where you will find a link to the scholarship application form. Details on how to access your MAP account can be found in your offer email.

You will need to submit a 1-minute video as part of your application  answering the following question: “How will you promote Aston university to students from your university next year?”

Please upload your video to YouTube (or an alternative platform if YouTube is not available in your country) and submit both the video link on the 'Chinese Ambassador scholarship' application page on My Aston Portal (MAP).
