- English Language Requirements
For entry onto an undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree a grade of C6 or higher is generally accepted from English Language in the West African Secondary School Certificate in Education.
For entry onto the MBChB a minimum grade of C4 in English Language in the West African Secondary School Certificate in Education is required.

- International Foundation Programme
If you don’t quite have the entry requirements for an undergraduate degree, you can study our International Foundation Programme, which has streams available in Business, Social Sciences, Engineering and Science.

- Undergraduate
Students who have Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE) will be required to complete our International Foundation Programme.
For entry to the International Foundation Programme, we would require an average of eight subjects at C6 and above. This must include subjects that are relevant to the degree programme.
You should have a minimum of Grade C6 in SSCE in English language. If you cannot show that you have obtained this grade in English, then you can provide us with an IELTS or TOEFL qualification.
- Postgraduate (Masters)
You should have a degree from a Ghanaian university with a high percentage or GPA.
If you are applying for finance, engineering or science based subjects, you must have studied a similar field in your undergraduate degree.
The Business School has a number of conversion courses that accept students from any subject background.
- Postgraduate (MBA)
You can apply for the MBA programme with an undergraduate degree in any subject area from an overseas institution and with three years minimum post-graduation managerial work experience.
- Postgraduate (Executive MBA)
You can apply for the Executive MBA programme with an undergraduate degree in any subject area from an overseas institution and with a minimum of five years post-graduation managerial work experience. This programme takes 2.5 years in total and is taught in blocks of six days at a time. It requires the commitment of the student to travel to the United Kingdom six times per year.
- Postgraduate Research
Each of Aston's Schools of Study has a number of research groups with the potential to host PhD students. Research specialisms include finance, economics, marketing, organisational psychology, bioenergy, knowledge engineering, photonics, languages, biomedical sciences, neurosciences, health sciences and more.
You have to submit a detailed research proposal outlining your intended research topic, its objectives, proposed method of research and an indication of how the proposed research topic relates to previous work by other researchers. Find out more on Aston's Postgraduate research pages.
