The Birmingham Live Music Project (BLMP) will explore the vibrant world of Birmingham’s live music scene with a Q&A event at Café Artum in Hockley Social Club on 24 February.

Its recent publication on the Birmingham live music ecosystem provides a comprehensive mapping of the city’s music venues and sheds light on the strengths and challenges of this dynamic industry.

The group, which is headed by Aston University’s Dr Patrycja Rozbicka, associate professor of politics and international relations, is inviting music professionals, venue operators and passionate music lovers to engage with project stakeholders and share their thoughts on the Birmingham live music industry.

The panel will share the findings of the project, give a closer look at the key components of the Live Music Project (BLMP+) and offer the chance to the local community and local music industry stakeholders to take part – something they say is important and valuable to the success and overall cohesion and improvement of the music industry in Birmingham.

Dr Rozbicka said:

“Our goal is to raise awareness, spread knowledge and lay the foundation for the improvement and development of the live music scene in Birmingham.

“The event is not just about listening. It's about learning and sharing. We'll be covering a range of topics, with the goal of improving music ecosystem and cohesion across Birmingham’s music industry.

“Our workshops and events are designed to provide practical knowledge that will equip music professionals and venues with the tools they need to succeed in this competitive industry.

“We encourage attendees to stay on after the discussion to continue networking.”
