Learning experience
The quality of teaching at Aston was generally quite high. Lecturers made effective use of facilities and technology, such as Vevox, an online real-time system, which allowed for easy feedback collection from students and anonymous question submissions.
The lecturers were supportive and used visual aids and practical examples to explain course materials. They also shared additional resources like books and research papers. Their patience in addressing questions and their accessibility to helping with doubts and inquiries are noteworthy. Providing recorded videos of each session was particularly beneficial, as it allowed me to learn at my own pace.
During periods, the Learning Development Centre provided valuable support and guidance to ensure my assignments met academic expectations.
Highlight of Aston University
The highlight of my time at Aston was the opportunity to meet and connect with friendly classmates from diverse backgrounds. The multicultural experience at Aston University allowed me to forge strong friendships during my academic journey.
Student involvement and activities
I co-founded a society for Iranians at Aston University, becoming one of the first Iranian societies established there. Additionally, I participated in events organized by other societies, such as Diwali celebrations.
Aston campus experience
I had a positive and enriching experience on campus using the Students' Union facilities and I occasionally spent time there between classes, especially for meals. It offers a picturesque and refreshing environment. The presence of benches beside the serene lake provided a tranquil setting where I could relax and enjoy the company of geese. It's a soothing and peaceful place that offers moments of respite amidst the demands of academic life.
