What’s on offer?
A free, interactive exhibition on the theme of creative community activism, at Moseley Hive, and a creative ‘drop in’ style workshop – making placards and colouring in your own pop-up home!
The exhibition showcases research into whether finding your creative voice with your community can inspire you to find your activist voice, and get involved with your community in new ways. The exhibition will tell powerful stories about navigating, racism, poverty and class inequality, gendered inequalities, and ableism, and the barriers these pose to creative and cultural activism.
The event is led by Dr Katy Pilcher, Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Aston University, together with Fun Palaces Director Amie Taylor.
We will have a ‘meet the exhibition curators’ opportunity – with Katy and Amie on hand to answer questions about the exhibition.
Who’s it aimed at?
All are welcome, young and old. There will be some specific activities aimed at children. How do I take part? – You are welcome to turn up at any time between 11:00 – 14:00. Children and young people under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
