What is Formula Student?
Formula Student is an international competition run by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). It promotes careers and excellence in engineering, by challenging teams of university students to design, build, develop, market and compete with a small single seater racing car. Aston University has been competing in the Formula Student competition since 2002, with each year seeing new ideas and technologies incorporated into the car. Formula Student's official website

The Formula Student program is mainly supported by Aston University by both providing the facilities and funding, but it would not survive without the help of our sponsorship partnerships with organisations outside the University.
Over the years Aston Formula Student has formed lasting partnerships that have not only benefitted the students but also the companies themselves. These partnerships can come in the form of extra funding or technical support.
