Short Engineering Courses

Individual modules you can take to enhance your career in the Engineering sector.

Why take a short course?

Short courses are your chance to take an intensive period of study in a particular area. They are quick, professionally relevant and directly related to your career.

You may have completed a degree and wish to continue your professional development to help obtain or retain your professional registration.

Either way, Aston University is experienced in providing courses specifically designed with industry for industry. Your learning will always be relevant to your sector.

Entry requirements

Candidates will need to be employed in a relevant engineering sector and have the support of their employer.

Module options

The Aston Professional Engineering Centre offers a range of stand-alone modules that can be taken on either a taught or distance learning basis.  The modules do attract credits and assessment will normally be in the form of a project and/or examination.  On line materials will be provided via our Virtual Learning Environment (Blackboard) and with our Level 6 modules, the on line support of a Supervisor will also be available. Level 5 modules are normally delivered by means of two week blocks of attendance at the University, supported by extensive materials on Blackboard.

These modules are work based and therefore you should be in employment in a relevant engineering discipline in order that your coursework can be linked to practical projects you are undertaking in the workplace.

Please note that the fee per module is £1,500.
