National Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)
Have your say
We strongly encourage postgraduate taught students to take part in the national Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES). The more responses we get, the more we learn about how we can enhance our postgraduate provision. Teaching staff in your College also find the anonymised feedback very useful. Here are the answers to questions often asked about PTES:
The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is a national survey run in partnership with Advance HE. The results of the survey are used to help the University enhance the student experience of postgraduate students. The questionnaire takes around 15 minutes to complete.
Please check your Aston email account for your unique link to the survey. The survey will be launched on Monday 24th April 2023.
If you are an eligible taught postgraduate student, this is your chance to tell us your thoughts about your programme. It is also your opportunity to tell us what you liked about your time here and things you feel could be improved.
Your feedback is important. Around 100 universities and colleges take part in PTES, so we can compare your experience against similar postgraduates at other institutions to see if we are supporting your learning as we should. The survey is confidential, and the findings are aggregated with other students' responses, so your responses will not be identifiable. We use the findings to improve our courses and the learning experience for future students. At College level, action has been taken to address specific feedback on campus-based and distance learning programmes.
PTES will ask you about the whole learning experience: teaching and learning, engagement, community, dissertation or major project, assessment and feedback, organisation and management, resources, support and skills development.
Please check your Aston email account for your unique link to the survey. The survey will be launched on Monday 24th April 2023.
The survey will close on Friday 16th June 2023.
If you are unsure about anything to do with the survey, or have any difficulty, please contact Richard Carter in the Market Research Office.
As a ‘thank you’ for taking part, you will be automatically entered into a prize where you will have the chance of winning one of two top prizes of £150 in cash, or one of ten £10 Amazon vouchers.
