Work-based learning

Work-based learning affords you the flexibility to gain a useful and relevant qualification while continuing in your current role and earning a wage. You’ll study primarily in the workplace and contribute to projects that make a real impact in your company – before you’ve even completed the degree.

The Aston Professional Engineering Centre (APEC) offer qualifications from Foundation right through to Master’s level. Building on your existing skills and experience, our programmes are varied, flexible and accessible, and the expertise you acquire will help you progress in your career and field. Most importantly, Aston courses are designed in partnership with industry, ensuring they fit the needs of both students and their employers.

Enrolment onto a work-based learning programme is done through your employer, and our courses have been adopted by a range of organisations from SMEs to multinationals, including National Grid, BMW, Capgemini, JLR and Majestic. We can even design and deliver new programmes specific to company requirements.

Aston also offer a wide range of degree apprenticeship programmes.
