Accessing Careers Support

There are lots of opportunities for you to engage with us, both online and in person.

Here in Careers and Placements, we're committed to giving you the advice, tools and guidance you need to help you plan your career.

Some of our events, activities and appointments are being delivered online, others are being delivered face-to-face. The Careers and Placements Centre on campus is open 09:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, so feel free to drop by and say hello to a member of the team.

Find out all the ways you can access our support below:

Aston Futures

Get familiar with Aston Futures, our online portal where you can search for careers events, view and apply for jobs and book appointments with members of the team.

It's really easy to use. Just log in with your usual student login details, answer a few questions to set up your profile, and away you go.

Attend our events

We have a jam-packed programme of events covering a range of topics to help you prepare for your future. Some of our events will be delivered online, some in-person on campus.

Additionally, some of our online sessions are led by companies, while others are run by our very own Careers and Placements team.

Use our online resources

If you're currently exploring ways to gain work experience, land a placement or secure a graduate role, it's important to be as prepared as possible for the process ahead. To help you get there, our resource library is packed with information on everything from drafting your first CV to nailing an assessment centre.

We also subscribe to a range of online tools that'll help you prepare for a psychometric test or video interview – practice makes perfect, after all! In addition, we’ve collated some useful online resources around working from home.

Book an appointment

You can book a virtual or face-to-face appointment with a member of the team using Aston Futures

Practise your video interview skills

The employers we work with are doing more and more video interviews – for obvious reasons. Video interviews can be awkward and scary, but it doesn't have to be that way. The more you practise, the more comfortable you become. We've got a host of online tools to help you get prepped.
