Your placement year is likely one of the most impactful and memorable parts of university life. We’d love to hear about your experiences through photos, videos, and a short quote that sums it all up.

We understand that the placement landscape has evolved significantly in recent years, with more remote opportunities, flexible work arrangements, and hybrid setups. To ensure our competition reflects the diverse experiences of our placement students, we've created categories that celebrate all types of placements.

We’d love for you to get involved by sharing your unique journey. The competition has two categories, and you’re welcome to enter both! Please note, however, that you can only be shortlisted once.

Category One: On the Job

Show us what life on the job looks like! Submit a photo or video of yourself in action— whether it’s at the office, working from home, or engaging in a task within your role.
Plus, share a quote that captures what your placement has allowed you to experience, learn, or explore.

Category Two: On Location

Highlight the adventures your placement has brought beyond the day-to-day! This could include exploring a new city, spending time with new friends, or capturing moments at iconic landmarks through a photo or video. Plus, share a quote that captures what your placement has allowed you to experience, learn, or explore.

How to enter

All you need to do is upload and submit your entry using the form below. If you want to enter additional entries in the future, just resubmit another form. 

The competition closes at the end of August 2025. All entries will then be independently shortlisted for voting, where we'll find and award the winners.

You must be a current Aston University student on placement during 2024/25 to enter. Please ensure you have permission from every person featured in the photograph or video before submitting it.
