At Aston, we support research that has substantial societal and commercial impact. We partner with businesses with scope to drive the products and services developed by our academics forward.

We ensure that our research is suitable for market shows how we actively protect our intellectual property where this is required for industrial uptake. We currently manage dozens of patent families and are always seeking companies who can help bring these technologies to market.

Technologies are available for licensing or co-development across our Colleges of Health and Life Sciences and Engineering and Physical Sciences.

We also have a number of spin-out companies formed to drive forward inventions developed at Aston and can readily give further information on these to potential investors.

Aston University has substantially adopted the recommendations of the UK spinout review and has a base equity position of 20% University equity in spinout formation.
