I studied Aston’s Law LLB degree and was fortunate to secure a placement at BNP Paribas during my time at Aston University.

Why did you choose Aston University?

I chose Aston University because of its renowned business school and strong reputation for employability. Aston [University's] emphasis on practical, career-focused education appealed to me, as I wanted to ensure that my university experience would provide me with the skills to succeed in the professional world.

Why did you choose your course?

Studying Law LLB at Aston University provides access to excellent resources, an experienced faculty and practical learning opportunities, which I believe greatly enhanced my academic and professional development.

What did you enjoy most about your course?

I enjoyed the interactive and engaging learning environment facilitated by the dedicated faculty. The opportunity to participate in thought-provoking discussions, and collaborate with fellow students truly enhanced my learning experience.

 

Did you do any extracurricular activities?

I had the privilege of serving as the international student officer, and it was truly an enriching experience.

I was able to assist international students in navigating their lives in the UK, whether it was helping them adjust to a new culture or providing guidance on academic matters. It allowed me to make a positive impact on the lives of my fellow students and contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive environment on campus.

It was incredibly rewarding.

Working at BNP Paribas provided me with practical insights into financial markets, which complemented my academic studies and allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world context.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my placement was the opportunity to work alongside professionals in the finance industry and learn from their expertise. I was able to contribute to various projects and collaborate with team members. Being immersed in a dynamic and fast-paced environment like BNP Paribas enabled me to enhance my adaptability and resilience, traits that are highly valued in the corporate world.

Overall, completing a placement was an enriching and transformative experience that helped me grow both personally and professionally. It solidified my passion for compliance in finance and affirmed my career aspirations, setting a strong foundation for my future endeavours.
