From aspiring business student to successful entrepreneur: Eleta's journey to success
Eleta Taylor is a graduate of Aston University's BSc (Hons) Business Enterprise Development programme and the founder of Wicked Kickz Ltd., a company specialising in the trade of limited edition trainers and streetwear clothing.
Eleta decided to go to university due to her love of business. At first, she was unsure of what she wanted to study. With time and advice, she decided the Business Enterprise Development course was the course for her.
She said:
It was a hands-on, practical course...and it was just something that I had my heart set on as soon as I found out about the course
The course was methodical as well as practical, I was able to gain a deeper understanding of business and the requirements of higher education.”
Applied learning with impact
Eleta went on to apply her knowledge and experience to her family business, helping with its development and growth. She used methods such as the Tuckman Theory to ensure that the internal and external teams worked together to optimise sales growth and customer satisfaction.
Reflecting upon her time at Aston University, Eleta shared:
The best part of studying at Aston University was the culture; it was very uplifting. We had a thing in first year where we would always speak about energy; coming onto the course it was all 'energy, energy, energy' and that's what we brought."
Advice for prospective students
Eleta advised:
For anyone thinking of studying at Aston University, I would definitely go for it. It's a different type of experience; you've got community, you've got culture, inclusivity, everything that you need really.
I would advise you to allow your passion to drive you towards your goals, let your passion drive your success."
She concluded:
Stay true to yourself, be optimistic and never doubt your ability."
