Aston Business School is really prestigious and modern. While I was on my open day, the business lecturers made me feel really welcomed and excited about studying there.

It was a great chance to apply the business modules that I studied at Aston University in the APAC region. And who wouldn’t want to study in Australia for a year? Beautiful weather day and night in the incredible city of Brisbane.

What did you enjoy most about the experience of studying on a second degree?

My favourite experience studying abroad was when my studies were over for the semester and I did a bit of travelling. During my travels to Cairns in the north of Queensland I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to do a skydive! The barrier reef was an incredible sight too.

What were the best or most interesting opportunities you experienced during your second degree?

There were a lot of interesting opportunities in Brisbane both in and out of university. University student organised nights out were a great opportunity, especially for international students, to mingle and have some fun. During my studies, we had the opportunity to present our findings in front of a real business, which was a really good experience too and quite nerve wrecking.

Definitely. It is a great avenue to talk about during interviews and the cultural and life experiences that you gain from travelling abroad are invaluable to a business. Definitely do it! It was a great experience and I don’t regret a single minute of it. Make the most of it while you are out there, now COVID is calming restrictions, it is a great chance to mix travel with your university and learning experiences. Don’t be afraid to throw yourself in the deep end and talk to loads of people who will be feeling the same as you!

Is there anything else you would like to say about your career following your graduation?

I am now really enjoying my marketing role at flatfair, my time abroad and at Aston University really gave me a lot of confidence in my communication ability, which has really been a blessing for work life. I’ve already learnt so much too since graduations and I can’t wait to carry on with my progression in marketing.
