Our teaching and research is integrated. We believe in research-led teaching, so that our research projects and our engagement with a variety of organisations feed directly into our teaching. This helps with developing student employability and problem solving skills.
We adopt a blended approach so that there is a mix of face-to-face and online teaching. In this way, we can have high quality relationships with our students. In particular, we are innovative in that we have evaluated our teaching to ensure that we promote deep approaches to study, where students actively critique ideas and the world around them.
Numerous colleagues have won teaching awards. Colleagues have been nominated by the Students Union for various aspects of their teaching, and one colleague won an accolade at the university level. Most colleagues are Fellows and Senior Fellows of the Higher Education Academy.
