Funded opportunities for the work-based experience stream
In addition to having the option to apply for roles sourced by our dedicated Careers & Placements Team or for roles they have sourced themselves, Aston Business School has developed and funded additional schemes to enhance the range of opportunities to undertake a work experience:

The Virtual Internships “Work Global, Stay Local” Scholarships Scheme
Aston Business School has formed a partnership with Virtual Internships, an external organisation, to offer you the opportunity to work flexible hours that fit around your studies in the career sector of their choice, for 8 weeks, in or outside the UK, while acquiring remote working competencies. Students offered a scholarship for the scheme will be able to choose from 18 different careers fields and will benefit from a career management programme throughout the duration of the internship.

The Aston Placement Bursary Scheme
This enables you to complete paid valuable placement opportunities with small organisations unable to support a paid internship.  Funding covers placement opportunities for organisations who can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. Students will work for 4 weeks full time or 8 weeks part-time and be paid the real living wage.

The Aston Business Clinic (ABC)
This will provide you with the opportunity to work as consultants with a team of peers to create solutions to real world problems. These business challenges are provided by businesses who have real life issues to deal with and who want to tap into students’ creativity and research skills in order to provide potential solutions. The programme includes psychometric testing as well as training on team working, commercial awareness, client relationship and effective pitching.

Live Consulting Projects
Aston Business School has formed a partnership with Impact Consulting, an external organisation, to offer selected students the opportunity to work directly with a client on a live project which will form the basis of their Master Business Project / Dissertation while completing the Work-Based Experience Stream at the same time.
