Birmingham is a vibrant shopping destination with bustling high streets and indoor centres housing your favourite fashion, beauty, home, and electronic stores.

Bullring

A hub of commerce dating back to the middle ages, the Bullring lies in the heart of the city and is connected to Grand Central above New Street Station. Boasting over 160 shops and restaurant’s, you will be able to pick up whatever you need for your studies or entertainment within a short walk of campus. It might even give Amazon Prime a run for it’s money.

Christmas Market

Loved by thousands across the West Midlands. Birmingham offers it’s very own German Styled Christmas Market with stalls running all the way from the Bullring to the Town Hall in the run up to the festive period. Offering delicious mulled wine, two-pint steins and a number of sweet treats. You’ll be transported to Bavaria if you can avoid the temptation to look at the modern surrounding buildings of Birmingham.

Museums

For a day of cultural growth that’s light on the wallet, one of Birmingham’s many museums might be the right answer. Our biggest and most tradiational museum being Birmingham Museum and Art gallery in Chamberlin Square. However, Birmingham and the wider West Midlands have a number of weird and whacky museums for those looking for alternative history. Why not visit the Pen Museum, Ikon Gallery or Black Country Living Museum for a day out?

Comedy

Time to tickle your funny bone? Honestly, doing a degree can be a lot of hard work and stress. Sometimes a good laugh is the best medicine. A number of established comedians bring joy to Birmingham each year at the Town Hall, Alexandra Theatre and Glee Club.
