Sustainable Development
For all people, through our people
To address this, we have developed our 2030 Sustainability Strategy by centring our efforts on delivering progress toward Key United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where our impact can be maximised.
This strategy outlines our commitment as a leading higher education institution to reducing our environmental footprint, enhancing our local community, and embedding sustainable development into our curricula. Furthermore, it focuses on strengthening local and international partnerships to advance Sustainable Development. Through this strategy, we aim to lead by example and make a meaningful impact on both a local and global scale.
This strategy intends to make a better, more sustainable campus and community For All People, Through Our People.
The task of overseeing progress of our Sustainability Strategy, and SDGs embedding in operations, is lies with our Sustainability Strategy Steering Group (SSSG). Chaired by our Chief Operating Officer, the Sustainability Strategy Steering Group is responsible for acquiring support from the University Senior Leadership Group for Sustainability Initiatives and direct actions for supporting members. For All People, we have elected 8 Key SDGs where a significance portion of our resources will be focused on. These SDGs were selected both due to their importances to our community, and our capacity to enact significant progress.
