* We appreciate that Muharram is a very important time for some of our students and colleagues. We have taken advice from our Muslim Chaplian and local mosques, and have made an informed decision to only include the date of Ashura for the purposes of this calendar.

* Dates provided on the Islamic Calendar have been scientifically calculated. However, these have to be confirmed by sighting the moon and there can be a discrepancy of up to two days for each festival.
