We express our deepest sympathy to the Royal Family following the sad news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She was a much loved and respected figure across the globe and we join the nation in mourning her death and in recognising her long service to this country.
We were grateful to have welcomed the Queen to our campus to open the main building in November 1955. We received our Royal Charter and full university status from Queen Elizabeth II on 22nd April 1966.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her relatives and all those affected by the news.
