Scholarships, grants & loans 2014 entry

Scholarships, grants and loans are in place to ensure that anyone who wants to go to university can afford to go.

Aston Scholarships
We are offering a range of scholarships to help ensure that anyone who is qualified to come to Aston University can do so, regardless of their financial circumstances. We also offer a scholarship for students with AAB or above at A Level (or equivalent) and placement scholarships.

We estimate that around 65% of our students will be eligible for one or more Aston University Scholarships.

Government support
You do not have to pay up front for the cost of your course. Government grants and loans are available.

Loans

There are two types of student loans to help you cover the costs of university: tuition fee loans and living cost loans (also called maintenance loans).

You only start to pay these loans back when you finish your course and earn over £21,000.

Grants

If you’re a new full-time student and your household income is £42,600 or less, you could qualify for a living cost grant (also called a maintenance grant).

Other external sources of funding
There are also other external sources of funding you may be eligible to access, including:
