    Student Recruitment and Outreach

Student Recruitment & Outreach (SRO) supports potential applicants of all backgrounds to consider Aston’s degree courses whilst striving to raise higher education aspirations amongst the least advantaged groups of school-age learners. SRO’s activities contribute significantly to the University’s challenging Access Agreement targets and thus are vital to the institution’s strategic objectives.

    • Provide impartial and honest information, advice and guidance to young people
    • Initially preference support to those most in need, or to groups demonstrating greatest disadvantage
    • Deliver outreach in as fair a manner as possible
    • Support any reasonable request contributing to our Access Agreement commitments, within the bounds of our resources
    • Provide Aston University students with opportunities to act as positive role models to young people and prospective students

    Aston Post 16

    Post 16

Aston University’s post 16 programme offers a fantastic opportunity for Year 12-13 and Level 3 students to enrich their current studies and discover more about studying a particular subject at university.

Aston's Outreach programmes are designed to raise the attainment and aspirations of young people, helping to shape their future options. We deliver a variety of initiatives and due to the nature of our work we primarily engage with targeted local schools.

    Teachers Events

Events for Teachers, Advisers, Parents & Guardians

We welcome visits to Aston University from groups of teachers or careers advisers, so that they can view our facilities and meet our staff and students.

We also organise events for parents and guardians to ensure that they have accurate information when advising their son or daughter through the application to university process.

As a teacher or a careers adviser, we have designed a selection of resources to support you in your role.

In this section you can also find all our policies and procedures, for our visits to you but also for your visits onto our campus.
