Visits To Your School Or College

Members of our staff are happy to give various talks and presentations for students and parents in their school or college. These could be general talks about some of the following issues:

  • Applying through UCAS

  • Choosing a Course

  • HE Talks to Year 12 induction sessions

  • What Admissions Tutors look for

  • UCAS personal statements

  • Student Life and Finance (often given by our own students)

  • Issues for Parents

  • Why Go to University? - Trends in Graduate Employment etc

  • Why study at Aston University

We are also able to offer more specialist subject talks given by a member of academic staff. Every year we visit over 100 schools and colleges across The Midlands and beyond.

The service is of course free of charge, but we require a laptop/PC and Powerpoint projection facilities to be provided.

Speakers can be provided for staff training days or parents' evenings as well as for groups of school or college students. The Aston University Outreach Office also offers a variety of services to Birmingham schools and colleges through Student Tutoring, Mentoring and other Outreach projects.
