What to do after receiving your results

Notification of results

If you are studying for A-levels, Scottish Highers, Irish Leaving Certificate, the reformed BTEC or the International Baccalaureate (from some institutions) UCAS will automatically send us confirmation of your results.

Other qualifications

If you are studying for qualifications which are not sent to us automatically (e.g. Access or old BTEC), please be aware that we may have not received your results. In this case, please send us your results as soon as you receive them. The final UCAS deadline to meet the terms of your offer and inform us of this is 31 August 2018.

This also applies to any GCSEs (e.g. Maths or English Language).  You should email us with scanned copies of your results, as UCAS does not send us GCSE results.

If we do not receive your results before the deadline your application may be declined. Please let us know if you will have any problems meeting this deadline and we'll do our best to help you.

If your results meet our requirements

Congratulations!  If you have been given a conditional offer for one of our programmes and your results meet our conditions, there is no need for you to contact us on Results Day. We will also email you confirmation of your place for peace of mind, and you can check your status on UCAS Track.

If your results have not met our requirements

If you have only narrowly missed meeting our requirements, your results will be considered by the Admissions Tutor to see whether we can still offer you a place on the programme. We will send you confirmation if we are able to offer you a place and your status will be updated on UCAS Track.

Alternative programmes

If you have not met the requirements for the degree you originally applied for, it is sometimes possible for us to consider you for a place on an alternative course. In this circumstance, we would contact you with further information about the programme, so you can decide whether you would like to be considered.

Enrolment information

We will be sending enrolment information by email to all applicants who are Unconditional Firm (UF) at the beginning of September. You will get your own personal login details to the MyAstonPortal so that you can begin the online portion of the enrolment process.  Freshers will take place from the weekend of 15 September. Plenty to look forward to.

If you have applied for accommodation, you will receive details of you room shortly after you place at Aston is confirmed.

If you have any enquiries about your accommodation application, please contact Unite Accommodation at accom@aston.ac.uk

Contact with the Admissions Office

As our phone lines will be extremely busy during results week, the easiest way for you to confirm your application status will be to check on UCAS Track. We may also contact you by letter, email or text message.

If you need to contact us about a Clearing place you can call our Clearing and Confirmation line on 0121 204 4444. This number will be in use from Thursday 16 August at 7 am. Please note if you send an email to the Admissions Team during A-Level results week there may be a delay in replying. If your enquiry is urgent please call the above number.

All the best for Results Day and hope to see you on campus this September.
