Although based in the School of Life and Health Sciences, this course is taught jointly with staff from the Marketing section of Aston Business School.
You will join departments that are home to a large number of teaching and research members of staff. This broad range of research interests informs our teaching, providing a wide range of modules for undergraduate students, which is especially beneficial to final year students when conducting their research projects.
Admissions Tutor: Dr Nathan Ridout, (based in Psychology)
Dr Ridout is Psychology Admissions Tutor, Senior Lecturer in Psychology and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is an experimental psychologist interesting in understanding processing biases and deficits that are associated with psychological disorders, most notably depression and eating disorders. He teaches a final year module in affective disorders as well as first year module on abnormal psychology.
Programme Director: Dr Liz Moores (based in Psychology)
Dr Moores is Programme Director, Associate Dean of Taught Programmes: Development and Recruitment, Associate Pro Vice Chancellor Teaching and Learning and Senior Lecturer in Psychology. She is also a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She teaches on a variety of modules on topics such as research methods and statistics, psychological research methods, and advanced statistics. Her main research interests are in dyslexia and visual selective attention.
Deputy Programme Director: Dr Neil Shepherd (based in Aston Business School)
Dr Shepherd is a Lecturer in Strategic Management and Marketing, as well as an Associate Chartered Accountant. Prior to pursuing an academic career he worked for KPMG in London, in both their mergers and acquisitions and audit practices. His research interests lie in the broad domain of strategy. In particular, he is interested in senior executives and the strategic decisions that they make. Dr Shepherd teaches on modules in marketing management, strategic management, marketing, and marketing consultancy.
