Students on this course develop a thorough understanding of the physical and managerial processes involved in logistics, and specifically the integrated management of the end-to-end supply chain. Graduates will possess specific academic and professional skills in demand by employers in the UK and internationally.

New for 2017, the BSc Business &Supply Chain Management course is an exciting opportunity for you to take your first step on the career ladder. 

Aston’s link with the Novus Trust group of companies gives students on this programme the opportunity to attend an assessment centre in their first year. On passing the assessment centre, students may be eligible to be part of the Novus programme, which offers professional mentoring, summer work experience, a guaranteed third year placement and (on achieving at least a 2:1) graduate employment. 

The BSc Business and Supply Chain Management has been designed to give you the skills and experience you need to excel in your career. You will have a company mentor throughout the course, as well as the chance to attend industry-led seminars and site visits.  

Students on this course could graduate with an honours degree, a guaranteed job and a year of professional experience - you'll be a step ahead of many other graduates!

We employ a wide variety of teaching and learning styles on our degrees, and we place particular emphasis on project based learning and hands on experience. Visiting lecturers from the logistics profession bring real life experience to your learning.

Assessment is through a combination of project work, case studies, practical reports and coursework (approx. 50%), and exams (approx. 50%). Your final degree classification is not only based on your final year studies, but also on your second, and if relevant, your sandwich year.

Aston University's four year sandwich courses offer the opportunity to spend your third year in a paid industrial placement. The value a placement adds is immense – you will grow in knowledge, experience, confidence and maturity, and gain organisational and time management skills.

For those who are successful at the assessment centre, the BSc Business and Supply Chain Management course offers a guaranteed paid placement with one of the 25 companies supporting NOVUS.

Modules not only adopt the most appropriate approach in order to provide you with the best learning opportunity for that particular subject, but are also designed so that you to develop your presentation, report writing, teamwork and decision making abilities – life skills all employees demand. You can also obtain one-to-one support in all aspects of study and communication skills through the University’s Learning Development Centre.

CMI and CIPS accredit several existing programmes within our subject area. Accreditation from both CMI and CIPS will be sought upon final approval. It is expected that graduates will be eligible for the CMI Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership .

Approval will also be sought from CILT, who also accredit all Aston's Logistics programmes.

Aston University has developed strong partnerships with industry, whether they are project or research based, Aston's Engineering Systems and Management group offers programmes which are tailored to suit the industrial environment. This focus allows our graduates to build skills which are essential to industry, moulding them into highly employable industry ready graduates. These partnerships also further the knowledge of the working environment allowing lecturers to adapt their teaching methods to compliment the frequently changing industrial environment.
