Postgraduate Offer-holders

Congratulations on receiving your offer. Please let us know if you will be accepting our offer or not. Your offer is only valid for 6 weeks from the date of issue of your offer letter. If you require additional time to send in your acceptance/ decline of this offer please contact us to make arrangements to keep your offer open for a further period. 

In order to secure your place on the programme you will be requested to pay a deposit of £500 when accepting your offer.

This deposit is fully credited against the programme’s tuition fees and it is non-refundable except where you fail to meet any condition(s) we set or you are unsuccessful in obtaining a visa, if one is required. For candidates who fail to meet conditions, an administration fee of £50 is retained by the university.

  • For International (non UK or EU) students

When you accept your offer you will need to:

    • Email us a scanned copy of your passport (the page including your details, photo, passport number, expedition and expiry date
    • Complete a Pre-CAS Questionnaire so that we can issue your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to the UK Border Agency. Please note that failure to do this will prevent us from producing a CAS and will delay your visa application.
  • Please refer to your offer email for the terms and conditions of enrolment. 

  • Fee Status Guidance - to check whether or not you may be classed as Home/EU for fee purposes click here
  • Sponsorship Confirmation - notify the University of any sponsorship arrangements you have made. If a third party (typically a Company, Research Council or Government Institute) is paying fees on your behalf please see details below. Please note family members do not qualify as sponsors.

You will need to provide the following:

    • An official Letter from the Company, Research Council or Government confirming that they are paying your fees. The document must be on headed paper or an official purchase order. It must state the following clearly:

      • How much of your fees they will be paying for eg. 50%, 100% or a figure can be given eg. £5000
      • It must state the academic period that they are paying, whether they are just paying for 2014/15 or state that they are paying for the whole duration of the programme you are on  3 or 4 years
      • It must give a contact name for the Finance Department to communicate with
      • It must give the full invoicing address; and email address for the area responsible for making payments.

For International (non UK or EU) students


  •  How to submit documents to meet ConditionsIf you have been asked to provide additional documents in your offer such as a Degree Certificate or Transcript you will need to:

    • Email an electronic copy of the original to: pgadmissions@aston.ac.uk 


    • Post an attested or certified copy to: Postgraduate Admissions, Aston University, Aston Triangle, Birmingham, B4 7ET.

Your certificate and/or transcript must confirm your final mark and that your degree has been awarded.

  • Degree Certificates and Transcripts - The University requires proof of the award of your degree which means we need to see your original or attested degree certificate that is presented after graduation or other proof that you have been awarded your degree e.g. final transcripts or an official letter from your University issued on official letter-headed paper confirming your completion of the programme or graduation and award. 

We also need to know your final mark. This may be on your certificate or your transcripts. If neither of these documents clearly state your final mark then we may ask you to get your university to confirm your degree results. We will need to see the original documents at Enrolment stage but you can send us a certified copy at this stage by email or post. If your degree certificate or transcripts are not in English then we need to see an officially translated copy.

  • Face-to-Face Enrolment

You will need to bring the following documents with you to face-to-face enrolment: 

  1. All students must present valid ID in order to officially enrol on their programme of study. Under no circumstances may anyone be enrolled or issued with an Aston Smart Campus Card without an appropriate ID check. Please check here the acceptable forms of ID for enrolment.
  2. Original English Language Certificates (IELTS, TOEFL or Pearson) where relevant. If these were requested as part of your offer you need to bring the originals with you to be verified.
  3. If you do not bring the required original documents you will be provisionally enrolled until you bring them to us for verification. If you fail to submit the originals within a week you risk being withdrawn from the University.
