Equivalent or lower qualification students

The UK government does not provide universities with funding to teach students studying for a qualification that is equivalent to, or lower than a qualification they have already achieved.

Examples

  • you already have an undergraduate degree (from a UK or foreign institution) and want to enrol on another undergraduate degree.

  • you already have a postgraduate degree (from a UK or foreign institution) and want to enrol on an undergraduate degree.

  • you already have a Masters degree (from a UK or foreign institution) and wants to enrol on another Masters.

Fees

If you are an "Equivalent or Lower Qualification" (ELQ) student, you will be charged a higher fee by your University. At Aston, this fee for postgraduate programmes is normally the international fee which is the fee charged to students from outside the EU..
