Aston University’s strong tradition of employer engagement and professionally accredited programmes goes right back to 1895.
Our close links with business and industry ensure that Aston degree programmes are relevant, constantly updated and meet the needs of graduate employers. We work with partners, such as E.ON, to consistently improve our offer.
There is strong integration between the practical and academic, including a wealth of guest lecturers from industry and links with professional bodies. Many of our courses are accredited by professional bodies.
Aston is a research-led university, where research infuses and informs teaching, helping to ensure your course is relevant and up-to-date.
Over 70% of Aston undergraduate students take a placement year. Unlike some other universities, the placement year at Aston is not a “bolt-on” year, but an integral part of your degree, which you are prepared in your second year and encouraged to reflect on in your final year.
As well as professional skills and knowledge, all our courses are designed to help you develop the transferable skills which are much sought after by employers. You'll also have plenty of opportunity to develop the entrepreneurial skills to help you start your own business.
