It is argued that retirement today is different than at any other time in history. With advances in medicine, improved diet people can be fit and active long after they reach their retirement age. While this is mediated by factors such as social class and ethnicity retirement can offer many opportunities to develop new skills, discover new interests and challenges. However retirement requires planning, and not just financial planning, it is about self reflection-what do I want from retirement and what do I need to do to ensure that retirement is satisfying and rewarding.
