Some fantastic news for Aston University and its Enterprise activities - after lots of promotion and hard work the SPEED WM programme has been successfully launched!

SPEED WM supports budding entrepreneurs to develop their enterprise skills, employability and business ideas by providing financial support of up to £1,000 and providing access to accredited professional training, mentoring and networking opportunities. SPEED WM is a new 36 week programme of support coordinated by Aston University Careers and Employability Centre and part funded by Advantage West Midlands. It currently runs in a number of universities across the West Midlands.

The programme has exceeded its recruitment target for the first cohort, and has 11 students on board with a view to recruiting an additional 9 in October 2010. The first training workshop was held on 17 February and the student feedback has been very positive.
