Room named after former ABS Dean

John Saunders opens the boardroom

The return to campus of Professor John Saunders, former Dean of Aston Business School, was marked with the unveiling of a boardroom in his honour - ensuring that he will always be at the heart of the School.

During his 10 years as Dean, John was instrumental in moving the school forward. He finally ‘realised his dream’ when the £20million redevelopment, which includes state of the art conference and accommodation facilities and an MBA suite, transformed the business school, ensuring that this world-class school for the business professionals of today and tomorrow now has a fitting home.

Jane Filby, Director of Planning and Resources said: 'The John Saunders Boardroom ensures that John will be part of the school’s decision making processes for a very long time to come. It’s a fitting tribute for a man whose leadership took Aston Business School to the stars.'

Following an 18 months sabbatical, John’s return to the Marketing Group at the school has already seen a research collaboration with the CIM into marketing in the recession. John was said to be ‘delighted’ to have the boardroom named after him.
