Charity skydive

Following a plea from Megan Jones for staff to take part in a charity tandem skydive event she was helping to organise for the charity Help for Heroes, she has found two willing volunteers!

On 12th September Joanne Pendleton (ABS Widening Participation Officer - 'Involving the Family Project') and Laura Ellen (ABS Student Support Coordinator - Undergraduate Programme) will be leaping out of an aeroplane in the name of charity.

They say: 'We are both terrible at asking for money and desperately need some sponsorship. We were thinking that even if the people who knew us sponsored us 50p, it would very soon add up - we have to raise £400 each in 4 weeks!

'It is a good cause and we are throwing ourselves out of a plane at 13,000ft and will be free falling for at least 45seconds. That is a long time to feel like you are going to die!'

Now that has to be worth a little sponsorship...
